1. The Merit of Political Correctness

Sina.com has been in a controversy. It is believed "sina" is named after
"China" in Japanese with negative implication which was widely adapted by
Japanese in the Chinese - Japanese war.

Sina.com obvious aims for all Chinese markets. It is a pity that the recent
sells problem caused by ignorance or insensitiveness to local nerve comes
with a price tag. We sincerely hope sina.com to realize the irreconcilable
mistake and adjust itself wisely. We believe that any un- compromised
approach will invite radicals or block its way to success. Neither one of
them will be appreciated by the consumers of the new economy.

Sina.com (新浪網) 的名稱在大陸引起爭論, 因為懷疑"sina"
與"支那"有關.

sina.com 在華人世界裏立足的意圖相當明顯, 可惜它對市
場有意, 但對市場神經無知或不夠敏感, 造成產品銷路成
問題, 因此須為之付出代價. 我們希望它在商言商, 明白
自己踩到了一條敏感的神經, 能做出智慧的調整, 否則將
強硬對策激化強硬反應, 或者讓對方因力量不足, 先變成
一根刺, 卡在它的前途裏, 再走上義和團的老路, 兩者皆
非新經濟的消費者所喜見.
