hi all,
while reading about the amazing fact that one can retrieve the Green's
function (impulse response) between two passive sources by correlating
the signals sensed by the two recievers- which is caused by an active
source, i encountered the term time reversal device. please refer to
"How to estimate the Green's function of a heterogeneous medium
between two passive sensors? Applications to acoustic waves" by
A.Derode , E.larose , M.campillo and M.fink.
if you cant find the paper on the net please drop me a note! i will be
glad to send you a copy.
unfortunately i dont understand the proof given in the above mentioned
paper, wherein the authors say that arranging a lot of sources around
two recievers builds a so-called time reversal device!!
is anybody familiar with the concept?
please help me to grasp the reason why the correlation gives clues
about the impulse response.
yours
