網路上流傳的「地獄之聲」是一個大約2分多鐘的聲音檔，前面2分多鐘都是一個人用英語
做說明，後面30秒才是所謂的「地獄之聲」。根據文字說明，這些聲音，是俄國科學家在鑽
探地殼時錄到的。中文版的傳言其實寫的很簡略，我們在網路上找到了這個傳言的外文版，
其中一個版本是英文版，我們在這裡面找到了更多訊息。先來看看原文： 

These details are reportedly from the translation of an article in a Finnish ne
wspaper named `Ammennusatia`. 

A geological group who drilled a hole about 14.4 kilometers deep in the crust o
f the earth are saying that they heard human screams. Screams have been heard f
rom the condemned souls from earth`s deepest hole. Terrified scientists are afr
aid they have let loose the evil powers of hell up to the earth`s surface. 

`The information we are gathering is so surprising, that we are sincerely afrai
d of what we might find down there,` stated Dr Azzacov, the manager of the proj
ect in remote Siberia. 

`The second surprise was the high temperature they discovered in the earth`s ce
nter. `The calculations indicate the given temperature was about 1,100 degrees 
Celsius, or over 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit,` Azzacov pointed out. `This is far m
ore then we expected. It seems almost like an inferno of fire is brutally going
 on in the center of the earth. 

`The last discovery was nevertheless the most shocking to our ears, so much so 
that the scientists are afraid to continue the project. We tried to listen to t
he earth`s movements at certain intervals with supersensitive microphones, whic
h were let down through the hole. What we heard turned those logically thinking
 scientists into a trembling ruins. It was a sometimes a weak, but high pitched
 sound which we thought to be coming from our own equipment,` explained Dr Azza
cov. 

`But after some adjustments we comprehended that indeed the sound came from the
 earth`s interior. We could hardly believe our own ears. We heard a human voice
, screaming in pain. Even though one voice was discernible, we could hear thous
ands, perhaps millions, in the background, of suffering souls screaming. After 
this ghastly discovery, about half of the scientists quit because of fear. Hope
fully, that which is down there will stay there,` Dr Azzacov added. 

`What really unnerved the Soviets, apart from the voice recordings, was the app
earance that same night of a fountainhead of luminous gas shooting up from the 
drill site, and out of the midst of this incandescent cloud pillar a brilliant 
being with bat wings revealed itself with the words (in Russian): `I have conqu
ered,` emblazoned against the dark Siberian sky. 

`The incident was absolutely unreal; the Soviets cried out in terror,` says Mr.
 Nummedal. Later that night, he saw ambulance crews circulating in the communit
y. A driver he knew told him that they had been told to sedate everybody with a
 medication known to erase short term memory. The Soviets use this drug in the 
treatment of shock victims.

"As a communist I don’t believe in heaven or the Bible but as a scientist I no
w believe in hell," said Dr. Azzacove. "Needless to say we were shocked to make
 such a discovery. But we know what we saw and we know what we heard. And we ar
e absolutely convinced that we drilled through the gates of Hell!" 

Dr. Azzacove continued, ". . .the drill suddenly began to rotate wildly, indica
ting that we had reached a large empty pocket or cavern. Temperature sensors sh
owed a dramatic increase in heat to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit." 

"We lowered a microphone, designed to detect the sounds of plate movements down
 the shaft. But instead of plate movements we heard a human voice screaming in 
pain! At first we thought the sound was coming from our own equipment." 

"But when we made adjustments our worst suspicions were confirmed. The screams 
weren’t those of a single human, they were the screams of millions of humans!"
 

根據英文提供的資訊，我們認為有以下幾點可供查證： 

1.前蘇聯真的有科學家去鑽地殼嗎？ 
2.目前地殼鑽探到底可以鑽到多深？ 
3.這個博士真有其人嗎？ 
4.除了我們找到的兩個網頁，這個消息還有那些媒體可以提供旁證？ 

第一個問題，答案是肯定的。蘇聯的確有過鑽探地心的行動。 

第二個問題，英文版裡表示，這個鑽探團隊是在鑽到14.4公里裡錄到這個聲音－－這，根
本是不可能的。目前全世界最深的鑽探記錄只到12262公尺。一直到今年，才有一位美國科學
家提出要向地心挖掘3000公里的計劃，不過，能不能成真都還不知道。參見地心鑽探記錄 


第三個問題，這個博士只在這個傳言裡出現，其他地方都沒聽過。 

第四個問題，除了上面這兩個網站，根本沒有任何主要媒體報導過這個消息。 

綜合以上的分析，這個謠言除了在第二點出現明顯的錯誤，其他部分大都難以查證。我們
正在猶豫該如何下結論時，淡水河一號又回頭看了一次原文，才又發現一個可以查證的疑點
，而且就在第一段：

這些內容是翻譯自芬蘭一家名叫Ammennusatia的報紙。 

我們試著以Ammennusatia再次搜尋，竟意外發現一段精采的追查故事，原來，國外的闢謠
網站TruthOrFiction.com早已經針對這個謠言進行過查證，而且過程還非常曲折。 

TruthOrFiction.com的站長是Rich Buhler，根據他的自我介紹，他是一位牧師，一位廣播
人，也曾經在CBS等媒體待過。他致力於追查一些鄉野傳奇，尤其是宗教方面的。參見Rich

Rich Buhler在加州主持一個廣播節目。事情是這樣的，大約在1990年代初，他的聽眾就不
斷的call in到電台去問他關於地獄之聲的事情，大部分的人都宣稱他們是在Trinity Broa
dcasting Network的節目中聽到這件事，他打電話去問，小姐居然跟他說「是真的。」讓
他大為震驚，才開始決定調查。

接下來的調查過程很長，全翻出來，一方面有版權問題，一方面也怕大家看到瘋掉，簡單
的說，Rich Buhler問TBM「消息從哪來的？」TBN就告訴他是A說的，然後他再去問A，A又說
是B說的...以下如此類推，他一路從美國加州問到芬蘭，甚至問到謠言上的那家報社，結果
，統統都是「聽人家說的」。最妙的是，繞了一圈後，他才發現，原來謠言的發源地還是在T
BN，而關鍵人物是一位挪威人Age Rendalen。 

最早就是他把這個故事給了一位常上TBN的牧師，然後TBN不加查證的把謠言都廣播出來，
再經過十八手傳播，從美國傳到芬蘭，再從芬蘭傳回美國，大家都聽說來聽說去，甚至在轉
述過程中再加油添醋，才會讓謠言愈來愈像是真的，也愈來愈不可考。

值得一提的是，在英文版的謠言裡還有一張照片，上面看來是一堆工人，那張照片其實是A
ge Rendalen把他們家社區報裡的一則工地消息張冠李戴，拿去騙TBN的。 

Age Rendalen表示，其實他在編造的故事裡，有留下許多可以查證的線索，包括他的個人
以及他知道真相的友人的連絡方式。他沒想到的是，這麼多媒體居然沒有一家去向他查證。 


總而言之，這是一個編造出來的故事，不過卻是個值得媒體人好好深思的故事。
