Sometimes I explain to my patients for half an hour the danger of nevi
changes, but they think that since no medications were given, so they do
not have to pay.
On the contrary, some "famous" dermatologists can handle hundreds of
patients a day, give them lots of medications with very little
explanations. Patients were happy with such a "reward", although they
still did not know what's wrong with his/her skin...
Medical practice here in Taiwan, sad to say, now focus on "how many
patients do you have today?" one health insurance card stamp worth
hundrds of boxes. To be frank, the medications were worth only a few
cents.
