Atopic dermatitis means an "allergic" condition manifestated by itchy skin lesions, family
history of "atopy", and characteristic distribution of the skin lesions.
Recently, an imblalnce between Th1 and Th2 cells was advocated as the fundamental derangement
in atopic dermatitis. But some authors find evidences showing that autoimmune phenomenon
plays an important role in this recaltraent ailment.
In addition to conventional steroid therapy, Chinese herbs show some promising effects.
