   手邊沒有課本,只好用網路上找的 + 自己已經模糊掉的記憶來湊合湊合 *_*

 Hub

    HUB就是所謂的集線器.
    可將數台電腦做初步基本的互連,接在同一台hub的電腦們是屬於同一個subnet的,
    ex:192.168.1.*

    HUB是屬於第一層(Physical layer)的設備
    因為HUB一是由一個Repeater轉送所有封包,所以它認不懂再上一層data link layer
    的frame format. 

    現在仿間所用的集線器有分一般個人使用與企業使用的集線器
    一般個人使用的集線器是指Port數大約只有5~8個,功能性較普通,價格也較便宜
    從一千多至二三千都有.                             
    企業或公司所使用的集線器,是指功能較好的集線器,PORT數較多,價格也較貴
    一般來說,這類集線器架格在一萬多元左右,或二萬元以內.      


 Switch
  
    也稱做交換器.

        ATM Switch
      
   Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) switches provide high-speed switching 
   and scalable bandwidths in the workgroup, the enterprise network backbone,
   and the wide area. ATM switches support voice, video, and data applications
   and are designed to switch fixed-size information units called cells, 
   which are used in ATM communications.

        LAN Switch - Might the one corelli you want.

   LAN switches are used to interconnect multiple LAN segments. 
   LAN switching provides dedicated,collision-free communication between 
   network devices, with support for multiple simultaneous conversations. 
   LAN switches are designed to switch data frames at high speeds.

 Switch hub

        比hub聰明的Switch hub看得懂Frame Format 
        可以決定如何丟這Frame(Forward, Block), 所以稱他為Layer 2 Device, 
        甚至是Layer 3 Device
