關於彗星突然增亮的原因，目前大多數彗星專家推翻之前的小行星或彗星碎
核「撞擊說」，轉而認為是某種原因造成彗星內部壓力升高，最後因彗核堅
固的表面無法承受這麼大的壓力而破裂，內部物質大量向外噴出而使得彗星
爆亮。
